CORUM Official Timekeeper of the Bosphorus Cup in Turkey

More than 60 IRC boats have crossed the departure line today of the Turkcell Platinum Bosphorus Cup on the Bosphorus, Marmara Sea. As the Official Timekeeper of this spectacular race, CORUM offers an Admiral Challenger 44 GMT watch to this spectacular cup. Being strongly linked to the sailing world since its creation, it was an obvious match for CORUM to be a partner of this prestigious sailing event as Official Timekeeper.

Welcome to Istanbul. An exotic destination spanning two continents and one of the world’s biggest port cities. Bosphorus Cup anticipation was high for a closely fought regatta, with all teams on edge, and hankering for a spot at the front of the leader-board hierarchy. Bosphorus Cup got underway with strong winds and “kicker” waves – setting the stage for some thrilling and spectacular racing action. Bosphorus is renowned as one of the world’s top sailing destinations. Its combination of wind, strong current, waves and amazing scenery make it a perfect spot to play out every nuance of sailing skill and strategy if you want to excel.
The race track played host to a coastal race for the maxi yachts – in a stunning spectacle Team SFS II, the Volvo 70 from France, Turkey’s Orient Express VI was the strongest challengers during the race. For the first time, Corum AG Sailing yacht has raced within the four days in IRC 1 class. Another year of great racing and special memories, as teams appreciated the warm Turkish hospitality. Calendars are already booked to return next year.
Turkcell Platinum Bosphorus Cup took place from 28 to 31 May with inshore races on the Bosphorus and offshore races in the Caddebostan. Being strongly linked to the sailing world since its creation, it was an obvious match for CORUM to be a partner of this prestigious sailing event as Official Timekeeper.
Admiral AC-One 45 Bois
Inspired by its nautical origins, the Admiral AC-One 45 Bois takes the original twelve-sided shape, while the 45 mm-diameter case is more strongly rounded than ever, within an integrated structure combining polished and satin-brushed finishes. Technical and contemporary, the case made of steel houses the automatic CO 116 chronograph caliber, also powering a date display. The movement revealed through the sapphire crystal caseback features an original openworked and steel-coated oscillating weight. The circular shape of the latter occupies the entire surface of the caseback opening and proudly proclaims its contemporary nature.
Stemming from lengthy aesthetic research conducted in-house, the Admiral AC-One 45 Bois highlights an iconic and original material on its dial: deck wood. The natural warmth of wood marks a vibrant contrast with steel coating. Technicality and history come together in a maritime direction where the material breaks with the form. From the black inner bezel ring stand the famous nautical pennants, the unmistakable signature of the Admiral collection.
CORUM
Over the past few years, CORUM has undergone a complete transformation that has enabled it to achieve a perfect match between the products and the demands for quality and creativity that are the very foundations of its credibility. Its firmly upscale move is a logical result of the brand’s efforts to recapture its historical standing while significantly reinforcing its horological substance. CORUM’s substantial investments have led to the integration of watchmaking skills, the development of production tools, the enhancement of human resources and the promotion of staff training. The result is a brand once again entirely in tune with its genetic heritage.
Positioned as an exclusive brand, CORUM offers high-quality watch collections featuring an innovative and distinctive design, and equipped with sophisticated mechanical movements. Its actual collection, spread between three key pillars – Admiral, Corum Bridges and Heritage – enjoy a legitimacy rooted in the brand history.
